About Kathy Roberts

The passion for caretaking, especially the elderly, has been burning in my heart for over 30 years. The caretaking experience started for me as an adolescent. My grandfather lived next door to us which provided me with my first opportunity for hands-on caretaking. After illness made him an amputee, our family became the sole caretakers. I learned at a young age the value of help when caring for others and understanding the purpose older adults have in the world. 

 

In 1995, I attended Northwest Missouri State University and graduated with a Child and Family Studies Degree (with an emphasis in Gerontology). Throughout college and beyond, I have taken care of individuals with disabilities, Omaha homeless, elderly, infants, toddlers, and adolescents. I am thankful for these experiences because they have solidified the caretaker gift and model for Hope Care Services. After resigning as a Children’s Ministry Pastor, I continued caring for my household, husband, children, niece and nephew. Caretaking of others, especially the vulnerable, is my passion and a gift from God.

I love to get up early in the morning, drink a cup of coffee, and go for a walk before the neighborhood wakes up. One of my dreams is to buy a cabin on a small acreage in the country. As we age, the practical mind deteriorates, but the experimental mind always remains. My prayer is that I will always have someone in my life to help me remain vital and green.

About Libby Stewart

Growing up in a rural farming community, we embraced everyone as family and was taught that the elders of the community provided us wisdom, represented honor, and to hold them with high regard. This foundation has shaped who I am today - a provider and caretaker for those who need help to make them feel secure and loved. We have SO much to learn from seniors and I hope to spread that message through this company that seniors still have very much to give.

 

I realize the importance of caring for elderly family members since we cared for my grandfather who lived alone, and was an amputee. I watched my parents work two jobs, raise a family of 4, and take care of my grandfather at the same time. It was not easy and it was clear to see the stress and exhaustion on their faces. My hope is that our company will afford families with more time to make new memories with their loved ones, free from stress and worry.

 

My education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in English and I left my 15-year corporate financial career behind to answer God’s calling to become a business owner providing companion care services. While I learned invaluable skills during my career, I found I was no longer fulfilled with this work and it was time to start a new chapter. My heart longed to make a more meaningful, direct, and personal impact on our community and the seniors within it. Partnering with my sister Kathy, and becoming a part of Hope Care Services, LLC is my dream coming to life.
